Catching Not Fishing
Lake Lanier Fishing Report

Lake Lanier Fishing Report October 2010

The stripers are now schooling on topwater most days. The biggest problem has been the weather. The passing fronts really affect the fishing this time of year. Some days have been great and some have been more difficult.  However, you will never catch them if you don’t get out and go. I have never caught one sitting on the sofa. We are also catching some big spotted bass on topwater. Both species are hitting the same plugs. We have been having the best luck with the chrome and blue redfin by Pradco. We are also catching some fish on the Super Spooks. This will change very soon and will start using some of the smaller baits like the 1/4oz. bucktails.  This is due to the fish keying in on the smaller threadfin. The threads are slower swimmers and easier to catch for the stripers. If you are looking for a big fish, we are also catching a few big fish up river on large trout. See you on the lake.
