Many individuals do a seasonal instructional trip to learn the patterns for each individual season.

Types of Instructional Trips:

Spring: Use of Planer boards and freelines. Baiscs of catching bait including castnetting. How to find stripers in shallow water and what to look for to save time for catching.

Summer: Proper use of electronics to find large schools of fish and downlining. With proper set up of your electronics you should be able to see your bait swimming around on the hook. Use of leadcore and downriggers for striped bass.

Fall: Techniques for catching stripers on artificials and night fishing with artificials.

Winter: How to find stripers in deep water and large pods of baitifish. Use of trout as live bait.

Things to remember: If the focus is catching fish and not education, make sure Captain Clay is in his own boat.
