Lake Lanier Fishing Guides

The Catching Not Fishing Guide Service captains have a combined experience of guiding on Lake Lanier of easily over 40 years. The combined years of experience just fishing are too many to count. When you book Catching Not Fishing Guide Service you get the experience you deserve.

Captain Clay Cunningham

Lake Lanier GuideBeing raised about three miles from the bank of Lake Lanier has given Captain Clay a lifetime of experience on Lake Lanier. Early in life it was mostly crappie and bream from the bank but once able to drive it was all over. After receiving a Bachelors Degree from North Georgia College & State University. Captain Clay decided to pursue his dream as a guide on Lake Lanier. Now over nine years later, Captain Clay is glad to be able to fish on Lake Lanier over 250 days a year for stripers. Capt. Clay is one of the few guides that are actively U.S.C.G. licensed.  When not fishing, Clay enjoys spending time with his wife Carmen and two kids Cydney and Carter.

Lanier Warbington

Lake Lanier Guide - LanierSame as Captain Clay, Lanier W. is a life long resident of the Lake Lanier area. As a matter of fact, part of the Chestatee Bay area of Lake Lanier was actually owned by Lanier's family before the lake was impounded. Lanier W. is one of the few original Lake Lanier striper fishermen from the beginning. As you can tell in the photo, Lanier has been guiding on the lake since the late 1980's. Lanier currently guides from a 24 ft Sea Pro center console boat. Before guiding with Catching Not Fishing, many will remember fishing with Lanier when he helped long time friend and Captain Don Roberson who has now retired. When not fishing, Lanier operates one of the few large farms left in Forsyth County.

Captain Larry Walsingham

Lake Lanier Guide - LarryCaptain Larry Walsingham has over thirty years of professional fishing experience on Georgia's Lake Lanier and is considered an expert on striped bass and spotted bass fishing. He is a former U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain and a full time fishing guide. For those considering learning or enhancing their striper and bass fishing skills, he is well known as one of the best instructional striper fishing guides on Lake Lanier. When not fishing, Larry's other hobby is playing poker so be careful if he wants to play cards on the boat.

Brian Nyswaner

Lake Lanier Guide BrianBrian Nyswaner has been fishing on Lake Lanier over the last two decades and has been guiding on Lake Lanier most of the last decade. Some of you will recognize him from working out of some of the old bait shops on the west side of the lake. If you see a yellow Triton bay boat with no stickers on it catching fish away from all the other boats you have found him. Brian graduated from the University of Georgia so you may not want to wear orange or a few other known colors.

Lake Lanier is truly one of the best striper fishing lakes in the nation. Here at Catching Not Fishing our goal is for you to have the best fishing trip you have ever had on the water. If there is anything we can do to make your trip more enjoyable be sure to let us know. The key is to catch fish and have a great time. We hope to see you soon on Lake Lanier.
