what sonar frequencies do you recommend? I have Lowrance and my sidescan/downscan options are 455 & 800. My 2D options are 200, 83, high CHIRP and Med CHIRP.

Most of the time 455 is best for striper fishing. On the 2D, 200 is the old reliable. That being said, 83 is a little wider and I like the 83 for downlines on my Humminbird. I have not used the 83 on the Lowrance but I assume it is much the same. The 200 is more common in bass fishing where they wanted a smaller cone over the 83. As always, there are exceptions to everything.
